Confirmation at St Joseph's Kilaben Bay

On Friday 16 June, students from St Joseph’s Primary School, Kilaben Bay were confirmed at St Joseph’s Parish in Toronto.

Through being confirmed, the candidates were anointed with the oil of Chrism receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

21 children and one adult completed the process of initiation into the Catholic community on Friday evening as they were confirmed by Father Brian Mascord and Father Geoff Mulhearn. All students, staff and parents were invited to reflect on this powerful sacrament during a meaningful liturgy.

The students have spent the past four weeks preparing in small groups, engaging in deep conversations both with their peers and families.

This Liturgy was a community celebration where many people from the Parish and St Joseph’s came together to support the students. The evening concluded with a supper of cupcakes prepared by the Parish community in support of our young people.

Much gratitude is extended to Parish Leader Brendon Mannyx, Jennie Nolan who led our parents’ evening, the Parish Sacramental team: Petrina Massey, Ruth Cootes and Ursula Lynch, the group leaders and wider Parish Community for their work, efforts and prayers over the past couple of months.

Congratulations to all those involved in the Sacrament of Confirmation last Friday.
