A group of musically talented students who attend St Pius X High School in Adamstown recently took out a national songwriting competition for their song Unplug and Connect.
St Mary’s Primary School, Scone was the lucky recipient last year of a grant from Upper Hunter Community Arts, which was used to employ Janno McLaughlin to come into the school and work with the students.
Come the end of January, it will be the first year in decades Vickie Pettett won't be returning to the classroom. Instead, after teaching for more than 40 years, Mrs Pettett plans to embrace retirement and spend more time with family, travelling and serving the community.
Students at St Catherine’s Catholic College, Singleton, raced solar cars in December as part of the Apollo Cup 2K19. The race was a three-week project initiative designed by the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Academy team through a partnership with the University of Sydney.
