Mini-Vinnies visit to Mums' Cottage

The students in the Mini-Vinnies group at Holy Cross have been involved in the collecting donations for Mums' Cottage throughout the year.

Katie Castles, the Kindergarten teacher, coordinated the big event. For two weeks students and families were asked to "raid your wardrobe" and donate any unwanted clothes, toys and games to Mums' Cottage. We had a fantastic response and there were many donations that will go to needy families this summer.

Later in the term the Mini-Vinnies team had the opportunity to visit Mums' Cottage in Holmesville on Thursday the 10th November.

Mums' Cottage is a community service started by Sr Helen-Anne. The service provides a welcoming and warm environment for families to seek support, help and companionship when they need it.

The Mini-Vinnies team got to meet Sr Helen-Anne and find out about the kind of work the volunteers do at Mums' Cottage. The students will also get to help the volunteers on the day.

The students were very proud of the difference they were able to make to so many families associated with Mums' Cottage.
