Church without Walls: Volunteering

In our third Church without Walls - Stories of Mission and Outreach piece, CatholicCare volunteer Michelle Speek shares how she believes our Diocese can play a significant role in combatting social justice issues.

Michelle is actively involved in our diocesan community, with her two sons attending St Aloysius Catholic Primary School Chisholm, while she also volunteers at CatholicCare’s Refugee Hub. For her, mission and outreach are about ensuring all people feel welcome and helpingthose experiencing disadvantage access the support they need.

Hear about how our volunteers are making a real difference in the lives of others in the video below.

Church without Walls is an initiative of our Diocesan Synod journey, Building the Kingdom of God Together, and invites you to encounter the stories of mission and outreach that occur across our Diocese every single day. Even in these difficult times, people of faith are responding to the good news of Jesus Christ and are working towards transforming people’s lives, and indeed, the whole of society. This is the mission that every one of us has a part in. Yet, each of us lives out this mission in a personal and unique way.
