Celebrating the 50th World Communications Day

The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle invites all to celebrate World Communications Day on Sunday 8 May. The 2016 theme, chosen by Pope Francis, is ‘Communication and Mercy’ and Francis invites all to reflect on what mercy means to them.

To aid reflection, Bishop of Broken Bay and Bishops Delegate for Media, Peter Comensoli, encourages all to share their stories of mercy online using the hashtag #ThePowerOfMercy. This message aligns with the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle’s own hashtag, #150ActsofMercy, that serves to collect stories of mercy throughout the year to be presented at the closing of the Year of Mercy Door liturgy on the Feast of Christ the King, 20 November, 2016.

Do you have any stories of mercy to share from your parish? Share them today, using #150ActsOfMercy and #ThePowerOfMercy, or visit the Year of Mercy page to follow the feed.
