Corpus Christi students share in the joy of giving

Dozens of Christmas hampers have exchanged hands in Waratah, as students from Corpus Christi Primary School shared the joy of giving with St Vincent de Paul volunteers.

Over the past few weeks, students involved in the school’s Mini Vinnies committee have rallied their peers to donate goods for their Annual Christmas Appeal.

The Mini Vinnies were inundated with donations, and the items have now been bundled together for distribution to those in need in our community over the coming weeks.

The Appeal is the latest in a string of initiatives driven by the socially-conscious Mini Vinnies students throughout the year. The committee comprises students of all ages who voluntarily meet at lunchtime regularly to learn about social justice issues, develop leadership skills, and engage with the wider St Vincent de Paul Society.

It’s a scene that will be replicated amongst dozens of Catholic schools across the region and reminds all students and staff of the importance of giving at Christmas.
