Catholic Schools Week Events: Come and see what your local Catholic school is up to

Catholic Schools Week takes place 4 - 10 March, and is an annual celebration of all schools across NSW and the ACT, including the 57 Catholic schools in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle. It also marks the beginning of the 2019 enrolment period.

Schools will be hosting a variety of activities throughout the week including open days and nights, open classrooms, in-school liturgies, grandparent days, fairs and more to celebrate their school community and raise public awareness of the many opportunities that Catholic schools provide. There will also be plenty of fundraising and awareness programs to get involved in and help raise money and resources for local communities.

With so many activities happening across all schools this week, parents and carers are urged to contact their local Catholic school to find out how they're celebrating and how to be involved, and take the opportunity to learn more about the variety of activities and educational initiatives available to students.

The theme for CSW 2018 is ‘Catholic schools: Faith in our Future’ which focuses on strengthening relationships between students and their Catholic faith by ensuring that all students -  with support from their parents, staff and members of the wider diocesan community - will have every opportunity of realising their full potential.

The week will begin with a Catholic Schools Week Mass held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Hamilton, with student and teacher representatives from all 57 schools invited to join together with members of the wider community, local politicians and parishioners to celebrate the occasion.
