St Paul’s launch Splendour in the Arts

Last Wednesday evening, St Paul's High School, Booragul, launched the inaugural Splendour in the Arts 2017.

This is a new performing arts event for talented musicians, actors and dancers in our school community to showcase what they do best.

This year, over 100 students took to the stage in front of family and friends and produced a fantastic program of work that engaged their audience.

Students auditioned for their spots on the program and have been working on their pieces for the past month in class time, during Friday sport and any free lunch times.

In the lead up to the performance, students were involved in two intensive rehearsal days and showed great effort in refining their pieces for the performance.

“It was great to see so many students willing to get up on stage and show off their talents,” said principal, Graeme Selmes.

It’s not always easy to work up the courage to perform in front of others. However, students from every year group were more than willing to give up lunch times and take on extra work outside of class in order to contribute to the success of Splendour in the Arts.
