Catholic Schools Week 2017 - Day 4

Day four of Catholic Schools Week 2017 was a big day across the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle for many schools with many special events.



At San Clemente High School, Mayfield, the Year 7 and 9 SRC school leaders were commissioned to their positions during school assembly in front of parents, teachers and school peers. Prior to the assembly, students gathered with their visitors for a special morning tea to celebrate their achievement. 

Meanwhile, down the road in Adamstown, secondary school students met at The Factory at St Pius X High School for the annual Diocesan Theatre Sports competition. Each team was scored out of five and the competition was fierce, showcasing drama students improvisation skills and talent. The group performed in front of a captive audience of fellow students, teachers, parents and judges. The winners on the day were:

In the afternoon, students from St Dominic's Centre, Mayfield, played host to family and friends at their Catholic Schools Week liturgy which included a song from their signing choir, followed by open classrooms where parents joined in building insects from recycled materials and contributing to a community art project.
