Over 29 primary schools participated in the tournament and four high schools assisted with umpiring. The emphasis of the day was fun and participation with divisions including both junior and senior boys and girls in addition to mixed teams.

Parents and teachers provide assistance on the day and throughout the year by coaching and managing teams, with sessions taking place during lunch breaks at school. 

Jenny and Deb said that the event is only made possible by the support of teachers, parents and the Newcastle Netball Association, in particular, Del and Doreen. 

Profits from the day will go to either Catholic Mission or Caritas.
