Run in partnership with national organisation menALIVE, the event inspired, encouraged, and renewed the sense of purpose and mission for everyone who attended.
The weekend was presented by four Sydney members of the menALIVE team and included singing, testimonies from their lives, small group discussions and plenty of time for the participants to relax and get to know each other.
On the Saturday, three priests joined the event for reconciliation, and the weekend concluded with an outdoor mass presided over by Father Geoff Mulhearn.
Several of the attendees raved about the event and how it had impacted them:
“It was a great weekend – rarely have I experienced the level of sharing from men in the small groups,” one said.
“I had waited for a long time for a course like this and it did not disappoint. I met a lot of very good men looking for the same thing. It has been inspiring to me,” another explained.
menALIVE teams work in partnership with parishes throughout Australia and New Zealand to run these engaging weekends.
From learning and experiences, the program has been honed over the past twenty years. It delivers relevant talks and personal testimonies, opportunities for discussion in small groups and, most importantly, provides space and a safe environment for men to reflect and share experiences.
