You're invited to Mums' Night Out

The annual Tenison Woods Education Centre ‘Mums’ Night Out’ will be held on Tuesday 16 May at the Blackbutt Hotel, 80 Orchardtown Road, New Lambton from 5.30pm and mums are encouraged to come along for a relaxing night of conversation and encouragement.

This year, Mums’ Night Out is focusing on a very important issue – nurturing yourself. Too often mums are so busy attending to the needs of everyone else in the family that they forget their own. There are many simple ways we can prioritise a little time for ourselves from making time to read or catching up with friends, to taking a walk or seeing a movie. It’s not indulgent to prioritise self-care, but necessary so that we can continue effectively in the many roles we have.

Psychologist, Tanya Russell, is our guest speaker and will share some insights and tips for mums on how to build self-care and mindfulness into their daily lives. I don’t know many mums who don’t sometimes struggle to keep all the balls in the air. This year’s Mums’ Night Out will be a great way to gather ideas about ways you might be able to make life a little more manageable and a lot more fun.

If you’ve never experienced a Mums’ Night Out, why not come along and share a drink and a meal with other mums? A night out can be a great way to have a much needed break and recharge our batteries in the company of women who have already been through what we’re experiencing or are currently in the thick of things themselves!

We will gather from 5.30pm for a 6pm start and the evening will conclude by 9pm. The cost is only $20 per person. To RSVP, simply call 4979 1134 or email Sharon.Murphy@mn.catholic.org.au by 8 May. Please extend this invitation to your family and friends and we hope to see you there on the night.
