Our girls played strongly at Morry Breen Oval last month when they represented Northern. Outstanding players for the 16s were Scarlet Hagan and Emily McArthur, who secured a place in the NSWCCC team. We dominated in the 18s, with Summer Dowell, Malaki Poa, Macey Cox, Elizabeth Montgomery and Stevie Botham all being named in the NSWCCC team.

Later in the week, the boys played at St Mary’s Stadium in Sydney with continued success. In the 15yrs Charlie Burey and Riley Rostron made it hard for selectors not to pick them, gaining a place in the NSWCCC team.
The 18s boys were particularly strong with Fletcher Doherty, Cody Hopwood, Jack Hilliar and Jack Thompson making the NSWCCC team. These talented boys have represented the Diocese and NSWCCC throughout their school years.

All the best to our 15yrs boys and 16yrs girls at the Australian Rugby League Championships in Port Macquarie next week (29 June- 5 July). It is certainly the pinnacle of the sport, and the Diocese is proud of these students making it to such an elite level.

The Australian Rugby League Championships for the 18yrs boys and girls will be held in Coffs Harbour the first week of the school holidays (6-12 July). It will be an exciting tournament, and we wish Fletcher Doherty, Cody Hopwood, Jack Hilliar, Jack Thompson, Summer Dowell, Malaki Poa, Macey Cox, Elizabeth Montgomery and Stevie Botham all the best.
