The event included a ceremony and music performances from students and teachers, as well as the blessing which was performed by Bishop Michael Kennedy around the school and its state-of-the-art facilities.
The works unveiled today included:
- Construction of the main administration centre, general purpose learning areas, the early education centre, associated roadworks, infrastructure, car parking and landscaping.
- Block C consisting of science labs, science preparation, theory and general-purpose learning areas, apparatus and stores, demonstration and collaboration zones and a centralised foyer space.
- Block D consisting of junior and senior technological and applied science (TAS) areas including a TAS workshop, design lab, visual arts, digital technology and GPLA facilities as well as storage and services enclosures and a centralised foyer space.
The opening is a major milestone in the delivery of a leading-edge education precinct in Medowie. In addition to Catherine McAuley Catholic College, the Diocese also has the St Nicholas’ Early Education Centre within the precinct and a new primary school set to commence construction imminently.
