2024 CSNSW Sports Awards

On Wednesday 11 December, Sydney Cricket Ground proudly hosted the 27th CSNSW Sports Awards Presentation, celebrating the outstanding sporting achievements of Catholic students across New South Wales. The event showcased the exceptional talent across the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese, with 11 students earning prestigious awards.

The CSNSW Sports Awards presentation celebrates the top athletes in each sport, across all of the NSW Catholic Secondary Schools. It highlights students who have not just shined in the NSWC Combined Catholic Colleges pathway, but have advanced into NSW All Schools and potentially the School Sport Australian level.

Primary Awards

Awarded the NSWCPS Maroon Award for Excellence in Basketball

Sienna Compton - St Aloysius, Chisholm

Awarded the NSWCPS Bar Award for Excellence in Swimming

Awarded the NSWCPS Bar Award for Excellence in Cross Country

Lennox Lindsell – St Aloysius, Chisholm

Scarlet Clydsdale – St John the Baptist, Maitland

Awarded the NSWCPS Maroon Award for Excellence in Touch Football

Mr. Daniel Lockwood - St Patrick's Primary, Swansea

Awarded the NSWCCC Blue Award for Excellence in Rugby League

Claire Adams - St Francis Xavier, Hamilton

Awarded the NSWCCC Blue Award for Excellence in Football

Caoimhe Bray – St Pius X, Adamstown

Awarded the NSWCCC Blue Award for Excellence in Cricket

Simon Troup – St Francis Xavier, Hamilton

Bayley Tranter – All Saints' College, Maitland

Awarded the NSWCCC Blue Award for Excellence in Touch Football

 

The Awards Night featured inspiring addresses from Olympic Gymnast, Emma Nedov and Paralympic Swimmer, Timothy Hodges.

The Maitland-Newcastle Diocese is incredibly proud of its exceptional athletes who were honored during the evening. It is inspiring to reflect on the many students from this region who have donned NSWCCC colors and now compete successfully on some of Australia’s largest sporting stages.

The Blues Evening serves as a celebration of the remarkable achievements of these athletes and a recognition of the strong support systems in place for all students. Special thanks go to the dedicated Sport Coordinators, teachers and parents whose unwavering support and guidance make these accomplishments possible.
