Last Friday, students gathered with their families and teachers to enjoy some sweet treats and suitable entertainment for a beanie dress code – shaving their principal’s head.
Our Lady of Lourdes Teacher, Kristen Lawrence, organised the event and said that days like these are essential for teaching students to care for others and work towards a common goal.
“We’re doing our part for our community and raising money for brain cancer research. We’ve got a cake stall, which has been stocked by our students who have been busy cooking, and our beautiful community donated treats for the stall too. All the funds will go back into brain cancer research,” Miss Lawrence said.
“Mr. Fuller and Mr. Antonini are shaving their hair for the cause and a few of our teachers and parents are colouring their hair too.”
“Days like these are really important for our students because they’re learning to think about the community and looking after other people around us. Teaching about acts of service is a value for our school and supporting a cause like this is important for our community”
“Everyone has been involved in some way and it has been a nice gesture from our school community.”
