Performed before record crowds, Dark Matter wowed full-house audiences thanks largely to the theatrical and creative talents of students from Catholic schools across the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
Dark Matter, which told the story of a mysterious lockdown at St Albert’s Secondary College, attracted rave reviews from audience members such as:
“The performance was outstanding; the singing was memorable; the dancing exciting and the acting phenomenal. This is an excellent showcase of the talented students in our schools.” – Anne Sturt, St Therese’s Primary School, New Lambton.
“The singing was outstanding and the dancing was creative and unique. The costumes were innovative and creative. The acting was amazing.” – Esther Leung, St Therese’s Primary School, New Lambton.
“The show was spectacular, I would watch it over and over again! I had such a great time watching current, former and other students on stage fulfilling their dreams and showcasing their talents!” – Deb Peterson, St Therese’s Primary School, New Lambton.
“I thought the show was filled with incredible performances and choreography. An intelligent story set among a school lockdown that focused heavily on the complexity of human relationships with both students and teachers alike. It was a mature story that would have resonated with the older demographic of the audience.” – Michael Tobin, Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, Tarro.
“Dark Matter showcased the amazing young singing and dancing talent our local region has to offer. A very professional and entertaining production.” - Danny Antonini, Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, Tarro.
