Holy Name celebrates Mother's Day

On Friday 11 May, Holy Name Primary School, Forster were blessed to enjoy the company of many of our mums and grandmothers at the annual Holy Name Mother’s Day celebration.

The day began at 7:30am with a beautiful fresh breakfast prepared by the HNS staff and served in the school hall - hot croissants, fresh fruit salad, raisin toast and muesli were on the menu. The mums, grandmothers and other significant women in our student’s lives came together with our students and staff to celebrate and acknowledge the remarkable women we often call ‘Mum’.

On display in the school hall were the very delightful and flattering Mother’s Day portraits that students have been working on for this special event.

Mums, together with their children and extended family were able to relax after breakfast and chat over a cuppa whilst enjoying a PowerPoint of our lovely mothers.

Following the breakfast, our very enthusiastic Kindergarten and Year 1 students gathered to perform together. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as they sang and danced to a very heart-warming song about the preciousness of a mother. Every mother also received a small gift to take away with them.

Following the performance families were invited to visit classrooms with their children where our students proudly shared their book work and explained the different learning spaces in their classroom.

It was a wonderful celebration full of happiness, fun and laughter.
