For the past eight months, students have steadily created, collected and stored for this annual exhibition which demonstrates the talents and ideas of students from Years 7 through 10.
The themes for the show were as varied as the imagery themselves, including an exploration of fame and notoriety in a 21st century context, identity, abstraction, jewellery made from recycled materials, postcards of Newcastle as well as photographic essays.
Over 480 artworks were displayed and over 200 parents, family and friends attended the official opening.
Catholic Schools Office Education Officer, Lisa Little, who officially opened the show, commented on the importance of creativity and the arts in the development of young people, with St Peter’s Annual art exhibition acknowledging this.
Each category was subsequently judged and awards were presented to students.
Congratulations to all students on their fantastic creativity and the students and staff who help contribute with co-ordinating, judging and catering for this event.
