Why We Need the Synod and the Synod Needs You

Pope Francis has introduced several challenging images that capture the essence of what it means to be part of the church and challenge our current practice and customs. We are invited to address the world like a field hospital after a battle; our shepherds are to smell of the sheep; faith is defined in terms of mission; and now the church is challenged to be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit through a spirit of ‘synodality.’
