DOOHAN DISCOURSE: 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year C

This weekend I was away from my usual place of worship, helping out in one of the country parishes in the absence of the pastor. This is my homily, therefore, for the 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year C) as preached during the 10am Mass in St James' Church, Muswellbrook.

The readings proclaimed were Ecclesiastes 1:2, 2:21-23; Colossians 3:1-5, 9-11; Luke 12:13-21.

"The true worth of the human being in the eyes of God is not about material possessions in this world, but in the way in which we are in right relationship with God and with our brothers and sisters. This, and only this, is the treasure that is stored for us in heaven."
