Inaugral NSWCPS Sport Awards

On Monday 13 November Our Lady of Fatima Caringbah hosted the Inaugral NSWCPS Sport Awards

The NSWCPS Sport Awards celebrate and recognise the best sporting achievements of Catholic Primary students throughout NSW. Our Maitland Newcastle CEO Mr Sean Scanlon was a special guest, presenting the awards.

The guest speaker was Blayke Brailey- Australian rugby league player & hooker for the Cronulla Sharks. Blayke inspired the students to follow their dreams as he has and to always remember the importance of family and friends.

The Diocese is extremely proud of these 3 outstanding athletes:

Quin Neyland – St Catherine’s Singleton - AFL

Sienna Compton – St Aloysius Chisholm – Swimming, Cross Country & Athletics

Xavier Schweinberger – St Joseph’s, East Maitland – Hockey

Award nights are a time to reflect on the fine achievements of our athletes and to acknowledge the great structures we have in place for all of our students. Every child who participates in sport no matter the level should be celebrated for their participation. Pope Francis says, “sport is a great opportunity to learn to give the best of yourself, with sacrifice and commitment but above all, not alone”. Thanks to our Sport Coordinators & teachers who work tirelessly to support students in their sport as do parents.
