Awards Night

The guest speakers were Nathan Breen NSW Triathlete and CSNSW Alumni and Ruan Sims Australian rugby union and rugby league player.

They inspired the students to find their people and to follow their dreams. They also talked about understanding the ‘why’ behind their choices and what intrinsically motivates them as this will help to reach your goals. Ruan talked about leadership not necessarily being about the best player but about being the person who brings out the best in others and holds themselves and others to high standards.

The Diocese is extremely proud of these 4 outstanding athletes. It is amazing to think that many Maitland-Newcastle students who have worn NSWCCC colours and are now competing successfully at the highest levels in Australian sport.

The Blues Evening is a time to reflect on the fine achievements of our athletes and to acknowledge the great structures we have in place for all of our students. Thanks to our Sport Coordinators and teachers who work tirelessly to support students in their sport as do parents.
