Sisters making a splash

All Saints College, St Peter's Campus, Maitland sisters, Sophie and Amelia Hodgson, have both been named in the Australian junior water polo squads.

Amelia Hodgson has joined big sister Sophie in the national junior water polo ranks.

Amelia was named in the Australian women’s born 2000 squad earlier this week and will attend a training camp at the AIS in early April.

Sophie retained her position in the Australian women’s born 1998 team.

The East Maitland siblings played together for the Hunter Hurricanes this season in the National Water Polo League (NWPL).

Hurricanes women’s captain, Thornton-based Montana Perkins, also made the cut with selection in the Australian born 1995 group.

The World University Games gold medallist will be joined in green and gold by fellow Hurricanes Julia Barton and Georgia McConville.

In other water polo news the dates and venues for this year’s under-16 girls’ national club championships have been released.

The annual competition will be held in Hobart from September 28 to October 3.

This weekend the NWPL finals take place in Melbourne.
