Girls Who Skate

The multicultural Neighbourhood Centre is organising free skateboarding classes for young women from refugee backgrounds.

There are currently 15 young women involved from countries around the world including Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Burundi, Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Included in the Girls Who Skate project is the aim of providing of each and every girl in the program with her very own top-quality skateboard and skateboarding gear. To achieve this aim, the Multicultural Neighborhood Centre needs your help.

The Centre is seeking support from the Newcastle community to provide donations of complete boards, used or new. All boards will be serviced, painted and gifted to the skaters.

As a thank you for your support, the Multicultural Neighbourhood Centre will provide you with regular updates on the project. You will also have the opportunity to meet with the skaters.
