VIDEO: NSW Fire & Rescue visits St Nick’s Newcastle West

Cooks Hill NSW Fire & Rescue visited St Nicholas Early Education, Newcastle West, on Tuesday 29 August.

St Nick’s kids explored the fire truck inside and out, learned about fire equipment and, with the help of the firemen, took turns using the fire hose.

The visit gave the children an opportunity to become involved in local community services and also supported learning about fire safety.

Assistant Director and Educational Leader, Kate Berry, said, “It’s important for our children to be engaged in the local community and having the fire truck visit provides learning opportunities, such as what to do in an emergency.”
