Carlo Acutis, a young Italian boy who died at the age of fifteen from leukemia, will be canonised a Saint next month after living a life incredibly close to Jesus.
From 27 April 2025, he will be known as Patron Saint of the Internet because of his unique approach to spirituality in the digital age. His ability to blend his deep faith with a passion for technology was remarkable.
Carlo created a website to document Eucharistic miracles and share his beliefs with the world. He was a devout Catholic and is credited as having a hand in two healing miracles after his death — the requisite number for all Catholic saints.
It is with great excitement that Bishop Michael Kennedy has organised an international exhibition of Blessed Carlo Acutis to visit our Diocese this week.
It is set up in the Toohey and Dwyer Rooms at 841 Hunter Street, Newcastle West and will remain there until 1pm Friday 7 March.
The exhibition can accommodate groups of up to 20 people at a time and will be open from 9am - 5pm daily (except Friday).
Follow the link below to book for your group. Individuals can come at any time whilst the exhibition is open.

Pope Francis wrote the following about Blessed Carlo Acutis in his Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Christus Vivit, addressed to young people and to the entire People of God, dated 25 March 2019:
“I remind you of the good news we received as a gift on the morning of the resurrection: that in all the dark or painful situations that we mentioned, there is a way out. For example, it is true that the digital world can expose you to the risk of self-absorption, isolation and empty pleasure. But don’t forget that there are young people even there who show creativity and even genius. That was the case with the Venerable Carlo Acutis.”
