2023 HSC Nominations

This year a number of students across our secondary schools are receiving nominations for various showcases held by the Department of Education.

Keep on reading to find out each of the nominations and selections.

A final selection process will now take place for a position in the Showcases.

Selections will be announced shortly after HSC general results release in December.

Encore

Encore is a program of outstanding performances and compositions by students from the HSC Music examinations.

Students who have received nominations are:

  • Luke Davis and Seth Ison from St Joseph’s High School, Aberdeen
  • Arianwen Dastoor and Caitlin Power, from All Saints College, Maitland

 

OnStage

OnStages features a selection of exemplary group and individual projects from 2023 Higher School Certificate Drama students including performances, video drama, and a moved reading of a script.

Students who have received nominations are:

  • Evelyn Bell, Niamh Bray, Josie Matthews, Julia Troon, Ethan Wheeler and Joshua Zizza from St Joseph’s High School, Aberdeen
  • Arianwen Dastoor, Ryan Hodges (Group Performance), Amelia Bell and Lachlan Foster-Keran, from All Saints College, Maitland
  • Kiara Conway, Noah Harris, Brady Lambert, Ashton Molloy, Jai Payne, Sienna Thornton and Karma-Anne Van Der Merwe from St Clare's High School, Taree
  • Bronte Carrigan from St Mary's Catholic College, Gateshead

Students who have been selected for OnStage:

  • Ryan Hodges (Individual Performance) from All Saints College, Maitland

 

Callback

Callback is a showcase and celebration of the exemplary dance performances, compositions and films presented by students from across the State, from all school systems during the Higher School Certificate.

Students who have received nominations are:

  • Olivia Rees from St Francis Xavier, Hamilton

 

Shape

The Shape exhibition features a selection of students’ exemplary 2023 HSC major projects from Design and Technology, Industrial Technology and Textiles and Design.

Students who have received nominations are:

  • Isaac Castle and Lachlan Standing, from All Saints College, Maitland
  • Charlie Barnett and William Hooper from St Mary's Catholic College, Gateshead
  • Jacob Cook, Thomas Dever, Sienna Edwards, Jack Martelli, Taniesha Tetevano, Marley Corbett, Tayla Darney and Kate Sainsbury from St Francis Xavier, Hamilton 

 

ArtExpress

ArtExpress is an annual exhibition composed from a selection of HSC student artworks.

Students who have received nominations are:

  • Kayla Penfold from St Mary's Catholic College, Gateshead
  • Ella Cupitt from St Francis Xavier, Hamilton

Students who have been selected for ArtExpress:

  • Egan White from St Bede’s Catholic College, Chisholm
