I think, or I know, my child has Autism. What now?

CatholicCare invites you to attend one of their information sessions about autism.

Tanya Russell July 29, 2016

Come along to one of two free information sessions for parents or carers seeking more information on assessments, or know someone close to them who has recently been diagnosed with autism. Learn about support available in the Hunter region for diagnosis and therapeutic intervention.

A CatholicCare psychologist will provide attendees with an overview on the condition and information, resources and services available to assist them.

Kirsty Russell, a mother and advocate, will then share her personal account on dealing with her children’s autism diagnoses, the tools she used to build confidence and resilience and how she got her family the support they need to live a happy life.

The sessions aim to:

  1. Bring families together
  2. Provide clinical information, resources and services to help them seek the help they need
  3. Provide a personal experience of dealing with an autism diagnosis to help support their emotional needs
  4. Build their confidence so they can better work through the autism maze, armed with targeted material that will link them to services in their area.

Two information sessions will be held on Monday 22 August 2016.

Session One 10am-12noon
Session Two 5.30pm-7.30pm
East Maitland Bowling Club, Bank Street, East Maitland

RSVP before Thursday 18 August E trussell@catholiccare.org.au pr P (02) 4979 1176.
