It was an opportunity to come together and recognise all our mothers, grandmothers and carers.
Their dedication and love were celebrated in a number of different ways. It might have been breakfast at San Clemente High School, a scavenger hunt at Muswellbrook, morning tea or simply spending some extra time with their children at their school or St Nicks centre.
Mother of two Faye Johnstone spoke to the Newcastle Herald while at San Clemente. She said it was wonderful to share a meal with her daughter, Matilda.
“It's been great to come and have some time with them to really celebrate Mother's Day with the school,” she said.
“It is Matilda's first year at San Clemente so it's always nice to come to the school and get more familiar with it.”
