Divine Retreat Centre, Somersby is the spiritual arm of the Vincentian Missionaries. The Diocese of Broken Bay invited the Vincentian Priests of the Marymatha Province of the Vincentian Congregation who use to visit and conduct continues yearly retreats in Australia. It is the same Vincentian priests who run the Divine Retreat Centre in Kerala, India which is the largest Catholic retreat centre in the world.
The journey of the Divine in Australia started on 7 April 2013 at St Francis Centre, Somersby. After three years of ministry at the leased property, the Lord provided us with a beautiful centre in the rural setting of Somersby. With the Word proclaimed in a secluded and soothing environment, where nature meets God and every chirp of the birds, is like a hymn sung unto Him, the centre is a perfect place to experience the Lord’s touch.
Teacher at St Joseph's Primary School Wingham, Melinda Rego, recently wrote about her experience of the Retreat Centre. Read it here.
In December, the Divine Retreat Centre has many events, including a night in Wallsend on 16 December. See below for details.
