Tuning into Teens

Tuning into Teens, a course designed for parents and carers to better understand their adolescent children and enhance their wellbeing, has commenced and is open for all to attend, free of charge.

CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning’s Adolescent and Family Counsellor is at Rutherford High School on Wednesday mornings. 

The course is based on the concept of emotional intelligence. In recent years, researchers have begun to identify a number of central skills that assist people to respond to emotions (in themselves and others). They have found that these skills are associated with much better life outcomes.

The six-session parenting program for parents of adolescents teaches parents how to:
