L’Arche is an international movement supporting, and advocating for, people living with intellectual disabilities. Founded by Jean Vanier in 1964, L’Arche aims to create communities where people with and without an intellectual disability live together and contribute equally to their community. L’Arche is an ecumenical Christian organisation with more than 150 communities world-wide, and encourages diversity by welcoming all regardless of religious backgrounds.

Vice Chancellor Pastoral Ministries, Teresa Brierley, provided the forum on Saturday for building the relationship with L’Arche and encouraged more to come along to the next event. “Moving forward, this is a great way for our parishes and agencies to connect and support other local outreach agencies,” said Teresa.

The next L’Arche meet up is 12pm-3pm Saturday 4 June, at the Georgetown Anglican Church Hall, all are welcome. For more information, visit Hunter L’Arche.
