The awards recognise individuals who demonstrate excellence in teaching or learning and a passion for vocational education as a springboard to further training and employment.

In each category, there were a large number of nominees representing schools from all education sectors. We had three finalists in the student category:

• Bethany Sanson – All Saints’ College Maitland, VET Business Services, Retail, Hospitality
• Amelia Sternbeck - St Catherine’s Catholic College Singleton, VET Primary Industries
• Neave Fogarty – St Joseph’s College Lochinvar, VET Entertainment Industry

In the teaching category, congratulations to

• Michelle Kinkade – VET Leader of Learning All Saints’ College Maitland, VET Hospitality teacher – Winner
• Louiza Mavros – VET Leader of Learning Catherine McAuley Catholic College Medowie, VET Entertainment teacher – runner up
