The exhibition opening was a truly memorable event, featuring a warm Welcome, Cultural dancing, and a Smoking Ceremony, all leading up to a visit to the gallery. The art exhibition stands as a testament to the outstanding achievement driven by the Forster Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG), as they work towards a shared goal for the entire community.
It is hoped the exhibition provides the whole community education about the Cultural learning pathways for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students, opportunities to connect with community and building relationships, partnerships and understanding as we work and walk together towards Reconciliation.
The exhibition acknowledges our Traditional Owners and the Cultural knowledge and skills that exist in community, providing pathways for the sharing and building the capacity of others, whilst paying homage to the Elders who will see the work as the fruits of their labour and their hope in our future.
