Eleven strong players from six primary schools across the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle competed in the Polding AFL trials at Bateau Bay last week.

Catholic Schools Office April 14, 2023

The trial was fiercely contested by 56 of the best players from all parts of northern and western New South Wales. An experienced and talented group of players, consisting of many Sydney Swans and Greater Western Sydney academy players as well as association representative players, took to the field in a competitive, yet fun and fair trial.

Diocesan Team Manager, Mr Michael Deed, said it was the strongest group the Diocese has had at a Polding trial, with eight students selected to represent Polding at the NSWPSSA Championships.

Polding is the pathway for students in our Catholic Schools to compete at the New South Wales Primary Sports Association (NSWPSSA) level and beyond.

Parents and schools should be proud of the way the players conducted themselves on the day.

Congratulations to all students who participated at the Polding event on the day:
