About St Nicholas

St Nicholas Early Education believes passionately in supporting and partnering with families to nurture and inspire children aged 0-5 to develop the skills they need to thrive. They do this through the delivery of child-led, play-based, and Reggio Emilia-inspired education and care in contemporary learning environments where every child is supported in their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Curriculum

St Nicholas' curriculum is based on children’s interests and needs, and reflects the vision of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards. All children’s voices are included in their program and daily reflection is encouraged to promote continual improvement of our curriculum. St Nicholas provides a stimulating and challenging environment that supports children’s curiosity and creativity, building confidence along the way. Their curriculum is play-based and Reggio Emilia-inspired in an enriched learning environment that includes both open-ended and group learning. St Nicholas aims to link families and the wider community to their program to ensure the best outcomes for each child. They also offer a Transition to School program for preschool children that provides them with all of the opportunities, conditions, and support necessary for them to start school as capable and confident young learners.

Centres

All St Nicholas centres offer clean, safe, stimulating, and inclusive indoor and outdoor environments designed to enhance children’s learning through the provision of wondrous natural and man-made materials. St Nicholas also offers extended opening hours, in line with their commitment to supporting working families. St Nicholas currently operates centres in Branxton, Cardiff, Chisholm, Gillieston Heights, Lochinvar, Maitland, Medowie, Muswellbrook, Newcastle West, Raymond Terrace, and Singleton.

Educators

Each St Nicholas educator brings with them a unique background of experience and diversity, and all staff are supported by our senior leaders to provide the highest quality of care at all times. A suite of training and professional development opportunities are offered to our educators on an ongoing basis to promote continual improvement of their programs and practices. St Nicholas ensures high educator-to-child ratios to provide premium and individualised care for each child.
