First All Saints’ College Awards Night

On Monday 9 December, the community of All Saints’ College, Maitland collectively gathered as one educational community for the presentation of awards.

Kerrie McCullum December 12, 2019

The evening was the first occasion where Years 7 to 11 were together as one. This, in itself, is of great significance for future generations of All Saints’ College as we work to unite our junior and senior campuses as one learning community under our new motto “Christus Inspirati”.

Of special mention was the attendance of our Director of Schools, Gerard Mowbray along with Assistant Director, John Tobin, as well as members of the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese Executive, Bernadette Gibson and Suzanne Fern who joined us in the presentation of special awards.

It was with great anticipation that the community celebrated the inauguration of the All Saints’ award.

The All Saints’ Award is the major award of the evening. The winner of this award lives out on a daily basis the College motto of Christus Inspirati (Inspired by Christ). The recipient encapsulates the following qualities:

The recipient of this award has been nominated in recognition of their outstanding dedication to the betterment of All Saints’ College. As a College leader, they have shown their true potential for organisation and diligence by initiating consistent communication between the student leadership team and staff, organising the Year 12 jerseys, updating the Student Coordinators on College affairs and being a part of the organisation of the recent Bushfire Appeal. This person does not shy away from responsibility and gives selflessly to the community to achieve the best they can for those around them.

As well as being a diligent and effective school leader, academically, this person demonstrates great dedication to their studies by managing their time effectively outside of their leadership responsibilities by seeking feedback to continually improve upon their work and achieving pleasing results across all learning areas. They embody all that is admirable about a role model- humility, compassion and consistency.

The recipient of the 2019 All Saints’ Award is Mackenzie Smith.
