The production culminated in the entire cast wearing capes but as well as being on stage, caped fever spread to our schools with the ASPIRE Caped Crusader Competition.
In the final weeks of Term 2, schools were each issued with a very special ASPIRE cape and asked to give an extra award out with their usual awards to students who were observed:
We were overwhelmed by the amount of wonderful stories of everyday heroism across the diocese. They included things like looking after their friend who was hurt to including others in their play.
At the end of the competition, each school entered its caped crusaders into a raffle to win the very special prize of attending the Saturday matinee of 365 Questions, Issues and Good Deeds before heading backstage with Artistic Director Anna Kerrigan and being given an insight into the workings of the Civic theatre from Technical Coordinator and ASPIRE Lighting Designer Lachlan Thomas.
Students were able to ask questions about the workings of the theatre as well as seeing a dummy drop close up and having a look at the theatre from the performers perspective.
It was wonderful to be able to provide students with this learning experience as well as rewarding good deeds in our community.
