St Therese’s New Lambton $6 million rebuild commences

Temporary fencing will be placed around a number of old classrooms at St Therese’s Primary School, New Lambton in preparation of a major rebuild at the school.

The $6 million refurbishment has been made possible by a combination of contributions from parents and carers through the Diocesan Family School Building Levy and the Commonwealth Government, including a grant of $3.5 million that was received via the Capital Block Grant Authority.  

Research shows the school environment plays a significant role in a student’s learning process.

The rebuild is reflective of the changing culture within the school, moving from the idea of sitting in straight rows to learn, to fostering a more collaborative and engaging learning environment.

It is the largest construction project at the school in more than 60 years, ensuring it is in great condition for its 100 year celebrations in 2025.

The school’s principal of 19 years, Duilio Rufo, has shown great leadership in advocating for this development, with support from staff and the P&F Association.
