Catholic Schools Week for 2018 began across the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle yesterday with special Masses being held in our school communities, to celebrate this year’s theme, ‘Catholic Schools: Faith in our Future’.
“Catholic Schools Week at Cardiff is a celebration of exactly what Catholic education is all about. Our philosophy is that it takes a village to raise a child, and our Catholic village is comprised of school, parish and the wider community,” said Principal, Mary-Anne Jennings.
“Together we celebrate each other’s gifts and acknowledge our strengths and talents in raising our children. Together we achieve great things supporting each other and working together to ensure the complete education of our children – spiritually, academically and socially. As a Catholic village we celebrate together and work together with no boundaries or restrictions.”
The staff and students of St Mary’s Primary School, Scone, joined parishioners to celebrate this year’s theme, ‘Catholic Schools: Faith in our Future’ with a special family Mass.
“The parishioners loved seeing the students participate in the Mass as they will certainly be key figures in shaping our future,” said Principal, Kim Wilson.
“Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to discuss being temples of God and how we can relate that to our theme for CSW knowing that we are the future of our faith.
“We will also celebrate the achievements of our school community during a special liturgy on Friday to conclude Catholic Schools Week.”
