Various media such as painting, photography, ceramics, drawings, jewellery, digital media, screen printing and street art expressed political themes, personal stories, emotions and style.

Director of Catholic Schools, Dr Michael Slattery, opened the art exhibition and commented on the student support from not only the staff but from “the gene pool”.

Parents, family members, friends and members of the wider community were present for the opening.

CSO Senior Education Officer, Lisa Little, is a regular official at our exhibition and was this year’s ‘guest judge’. Mrs Little was particularly impressed with the maturity of the individual stories each artwork told.

Particular commendations were made to Declan Murphy of Year 10, Sophie Kostrin of Year 9 and Nicholas Napier of Year 8 for the political commentary expressed in his artwork.

Students from each year group and discipline were awarded “Best in Show”.

The St Peter’s Annual Arts Exhibition has gradually built up a professional collection of student artworks and this would not be possible without the vision, creativity and passionate drive from the St Peter’s talented visual art teachers – Mr Paul Dart (Photographic and Digital Media), Mrs Sandra Peper (Visual Arts), Mr Christopher South (Visual Arts and Visual Design), Ms Simone Holly (Visual Arts and Visual Design) and Mrs Lara Crockett (Visual Arts).
