The school community welcomed special guests, Bishop Bill, CSO Director of Schools, Dr Michael Slattery, and Assistant Director, Mr Tony Kelly.

The opening and blessing of the new classroom marked the expansion to the school population, as a new Kindergarten class was introduced in 2017.

Designed by Wingham architect, Austin McFarland and built by Altez Building Contractors, the school has developed as a modern and engaging environment, with both companies having contributed to the school in previous years.

Building commenced in early January 2017 and was completed for the students to move in during Term 2.

A liturgy followed the official welcome, presided by Bishop Bill, who also blessed the new classroom, laid a foundation brick on the new walkway and planted of tree to commemorate the occasion.

“We are very proud of our new classroom as it allows us to provide a modern, architectural space that encourages play, learning and faith development,” said principal, Emma Timmins.

Special guests and parents were invited to wander through the brand new classroom and experience the indoor/outdoor flow and flexibility of the room.

“The new room is architecturally designed to let in the natural light, and to be a functional space to support the learning of all students,” Mrs Timmins said.
