Ordination of Bishop-Elect Brian Mascord livestream

After months of anticipation, the time has finally come. Last night (22 February) Bishop-Elect Brian Mascord will be ordained the fifth Bishop of Wollongong.

Father Brian’s ordination marks the first time a new bishop has been ordained in the Diocese of Wollongong in 22 years. The Diocese of Wollongong’s current bishop, Bishop Peter Ingham, had previously served as an auxiliary bishop before becoming the fourth bishop of Wollongong.

A fond farewell

Last week, the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, along with Father Brian’s family and friends, had the pleasure of celebrating his time with the Diocese with a fond farewell.

It is an absolute pleasure and a privilege to have been able to count Father Brian as one of our own, our community and our “framily” (the extended family of friends and colleagues). We hope you will join with us, and those throughout the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, in wishing Father Brian well in his future endeavours in his new role at his new diocese.
