Bishop Bill Wright's Christmas Message

The true message of Christmas is one of hope.

When we think about the meaning of Christmas, images of Christ in a manger might come to mind. While Christmas is a celebration of Christ’s birth, the true meaning of the season lies in the promise of hope which the birth of Christ symbolises.

The true meaning of Christmas, and the reason there is hope in the season, can be found in John 3:16-17 which reads:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.”

With his Christmas message, Bishop Bill reminds us of the promise and hope that Christmas brings and reminds us that we are all part of building a better humanity which the celebration of Christmas has long taught us to believe in and work for.
