The briefing, to be held on 6 November 2015 in Cardiff, will provide an opportunity for attendees to better understand the findings of the report and how it might influence and inform their work.
Dropping off the Edge 2015 was commissioned by Jesuit Social Services and Catholic Social Services Australia, and is the fourth in a series which first began in 1999. This latest report, which launched on 21st July, shows that disadvantage in Australia is entrenched to a small number of communities. The report maps those communities and their characteristics, and provides a framework for positive and sustainable change.
The data yielded by this report features Newcastle and Lake Macquarie and is likely to be useful to policy-makers, politicians, community service organisations and others working to alleviate disadvantage. There will be an opportunity at the briefing for questions and discussion regarding the report findings. Please refer to the NSW fact sheet attached for an understanding of what will be discussed specific to our region.
We hope you can make it.
