Two diocesan leaders will face a long, uncomfortable night ‘on the streets’ on 18 June experiencing what homeless people face very night. Sponsor our leaders today!

As if we didn’t already feel it, with the wild weather we’ve had in the past weeks, winter is now officially upon us. When we prepare for the night this evening by reaching for the slippers, turning on the heater and sitting down to a nice hot soup, more than 100,000 Australians will brace themselves for a long winter on the streets.

This year, Vinnies is hoping to raise a massive $10 million through its flagship fundraiser to help break the cycle of homelessness and to raise awareness of the plight of those who experience homelessness in our country.

Along with hundreds of other business and community leaders around Australia, CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning Director, Helga Smit, and Director of Catholic Schools, Ray Collins, will brave the chill of a winter’s night armed only with their clothes, a sleeping bag and a thin layer of cardboard.

Vinnies provides assistance to more than 18,000 people in the Newcastle community each year. You can support our generous diocesan leaders and provide Vinnies with critical funds by using the links below.
