CatholicCare celebrates with Taree community

CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning joined the community of Taree on Sunday 17 May 2015 to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Martin Bridge. CatholicCare facilitated a range of activities and games for children from its stall, and also provided an official refuge and collection point for lost children. Seven CatholicCare staff members were available throughout the day to provide information on the organisation’s Brighter Futures, counselling and PHaMS programs.

The celebration and markets were well attended, while the CatholicCare Taree team had a successful day handing out goodie bags and balloons. CatholicCare Area Operations Manager, Gary Christensen said, “This was a significant community event for the Manning Valley with approximately 2,000 people walking the bridge and then attending the community markets.”
