TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Listen to what the Spirit is saying
What a glorious weekend, even for staying at home. Mass at home, at least provides some connection with the universal worshipping community, who are celebrating with us for the 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time. I must admit that I am missing gathering around the ‘Table’, in the flesh and receiving Holy Communion, much more so this year than last year.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Staying Connected
I hope that our present lockdown is providing, for most of us, some time for reflection and not frustration. The week ahead for me will be spent on many zoom meetings with the aid of technology, ensuring that all that was planned can still go ahead, albeit on a screen instead of face-to-face.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Working Together to Make a Difference
How wonderful is it to feel the sun’s warmth as we begin August? It seems to have been a cold winter along with our living inside a global pandemic, so I am appreciating the sun’s warmth along with the beginning of longer daylight hours.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Shepherding the Sheep
This week’s message finds its way to you from the Gold Coast, where Allen and I are taking a week away to visit our children and grandchildren, whom we have not seen since February.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Recovery and Healing
Once again, we are feeling the impact of living in a pandemic and I hope you are not too overwhelmed by the latest saturation of it on our news channels, while observing all that is being asked of us, to keep ourselves and our communities safe.
TUESDAYS WITH TERESA: Heal Country
Disappointingly, on Sunday 4 July were going to celebrate the commencement of NAIDOC Week at the Cathedral, however, the COVID restrictions meant that we have postponed it until September. In the Catholic Church, we also mark this day as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sunday, and I invite you to visit the wonderful resources at www.natsicc.org.au. You may like to use their liturgical resources, prayers or the welcome/acknowledgement of country throughout the year.
