On our first adventure walk last week, Oliver and Caleb noticed rubbish on the ground and told us that we needed to pick it up. Their interest in keeping our environment clean led us to participating on 2 March in the national "Clean Up Australia Day" initiative

The children in the Moane Room at St Nicholas Newcastle West have been excited to begin a new fundamental movement program. Working in partnership between the diocese and St Nicholas Early Education, we drew upon the expertise of Helene O’Neill.
On Tuesday evening St Nicholas Newcastle West and Singleton educators came together for training on Aboriginal perspectives in early childhood by Cherie from Speaking in Colour. This was an informative professional development session on the holistic immersion of the Aboriginal culture for our services and provided some great resources on creating a culturally diverse program.
During outdoor play experiences, many of the Creative Cubs were very curious about the gardening that Lisa was doing outside. Upon asking, we learned that Lisa was cutting sprigs of rosemary off the rosemary plant in order to make it healthy and to keep growing – just like when we get haircuts.
